MAIA House Launch & Photography Exhibition

Homecoming:
A Labor of Love

By Invite Only - RSVP required

Hosted by doula-run MAIA House, the exhibition ‘Homecoming: A Labour of Love’ features photographs by the country’s only birth photographer Keidi Lin. For over ten years, Lin has been documenting home births in Singapore in her evocative and cinematic style.

Warm and highly intimate, Lin’s photographs chart the wide spectrum of emotions associated with births, as women re-discover what it means to connect with themselves, their bodies, partners and babies.

About MAIA House

MAIA House provides bespoke doula care across your pregnancy, birth, & parenthood. It is a gift for both families and birthworkers. It was born out of a doula’s love for her work and her partner’s love for her. Just like the title of “doula”, the word “maia” has Greek roots. It means “mother”, “nurse” but another beautiful meaning is growth/greatness. Having a baby is not just about growing your family. Pregnancy and birth present opportunities to grow as a person, to strengthen your relationship with your partner. It can be life-changing, empowering, earth-shattering; simply put, it can be great.

There is a popular saying that it takes a village to raise a baby. A more accurate version is that it takes a village to raise a mother. But a little-known truth is that a family should choose who is in their village. We have started a careful curation for our clients. Our doula team and selected partners are committed to providing evidence-based care tailored to you and your family’s needs. We see the many gaps families fall through in pregnancy, birth and postpartum and we seek to bridge those gaps through continuous support. It is still your journey to walk, but we will walk beside you.

Keidi Lin is a birth photographer who delicately weaves each birth story through the images she captures, detailing both the delicate and significant moments. With nearly a decade of experience and over 170 births documented, Keidi is more than just a presence in the room; she embodies the spirit of a birth keeper, deeply attuned to the sacred and sovereign nature of birth.

Keidi is committed to creating a calm, safe, and reverent space, using minimal equipment and no flash photography to maintain the quiet and undisturbed atmosphere every birth deserves. She believes that both mother and baby deserve a gentle beginning to life, and she is honored to capture those timeless, precious moments that will forever be part of their birth story.
